are planning on, have had or are thinking about having a homebirth. We hope that you will find much support, information,
and friendship here.
Top Ten Reasons to Have a Homebirth
- You have control over your labor and birth.
- No one will treat the baby as an object (poking, weighing, measuring, taken away for testing and experimentation).
- No one ridicules you, hurries you or coaxes you to take drugs.
- You can sleep, eat and walk to your hearts content during your labor.
- Your bed, couch, living room floor, bath tub or toilet are more comfortable than a hospital bed.
- Less chance of medical interventions for you and baby. (i.e. pitocin, IV, epidural, episiotomy, c-section, or circumcision,
vitamin k shot, eye ointment, etc.)
- No chance of babies being switched or snatched.
- There will be less of a chance that you or your baby will get an infection from those resistant hospital germs.
- You and your baby are not treated like a number or a product on an assembly line. Your birth matters!
- You decide who attends your birth, you can have your whole family or just your partner or heck, just you and your
MW.

"There are many women who hope for childbirth in which they, not the doctors, are in control. They want
to have the information that will enable them to make their own decisions, to prepare themselves for an experience in which
they participate fully, and do not wish labour and birth to be taken over by managers." ~ Sheila Kitzinger
